Staffordshire Police - Fraud Alert: 'Something for you' Postal Delivery Cards

Please enable images or add us to your Contacts or Safe Senders.

Fraud Alert: 'Something for you' Postal Delivery Cards
Your latest Smart Alert.

Residents are being warned about 'something for you' cards arriving through letterboxes designed to look like they have come from Royal Mail.

The cards which lack the Royal Mail logo look almost identical to the 'something for you' slips that are posted through homes when a delivery can't be made.

To organise a re delivery the cards urge recipients to call a 0208 number, which is not registered to Royal Mail. After ringing the number the automated message asks for your details and consignment number.

Customers should check delivery cards very carefully to ensure they are genuine and remain vigilant.  Although this card is similar to the Royal Mail card the Royal Mail logo is crucially missing.

Customers should consider whether they are expecting delivery.  If in doubt, do not call the number provided, give your details or personal information and get in touch with Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

SSAFA Stepping Stone Homes

SSAFA Stepping Stone Homes based in both the North East and the South of England provide short-term supported accommodation, help and advice to female service or ex-serving personnel, the female spouses or partners of serving or ex-serving personnel, and their dependent children.

Support is also provided to women without children or whose children may be living elsewhere temporarily, those seeking accommodation due to welfare needs, and Foreign & Commonwealth cases. The above list is not exhaustive. Each case will be considered individually.

Our homes provide a comfortable, secure and female-only place to stay for as long as it takes the resident to get back on their feet. From our clean and well-maintained communal spaces to private areas for each resident to make their own, we make our houses like home for however long the resident is with us.

The schemes are also registered with local authorities as refuges for those fleeing domestic abuse and, as such, their locations are not to be disclosed to the public. Referrals can be made via the email addresses below:

FAMCAS The 2017 Families Continuous Attitude Survey

The 2017 Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS) provides the opportunity for Army spouses/civil partners to express their views about a range of issues that affect their life as a Service family. The evidence provided by these views is a vital source of information that assists the Army in developing future personnel policy.

To support this process, it is important that the collective views of spouses/civil partners of Officers and Soldiers alike are communicated to the wider Army.

Driving in Central London? New T-Charge Coming into Force in October 2017

From 23 October 2017, cars, vans, minibuses, buses, coaches and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in central London will need to meet minimum exhaust emission standards, or pay a daily £10 Emissions Surcharge (also known as the Toxicity Charge, or T-Charge). This will be in addition to the Congestion Charge.

The £10 T-charge will work alongside the existing £11.50 congestion charge, and will affect petrol and diesel cars with pre-Euro 4 engines.  If you drive an older diesel vehicle you may also be affected by the Low Emission Zone (LEZ)

The T-Charge will operate in central London, and applies to the same area as the Congestion Charge. Find out more about the Congestion Charge and where it operates.

Hours of operation
Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 18:00
Excludes Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas Day and New Year's Day inclusive.

The Transport for London website has a vehicle checker enabling you to check easily if your vehicle is subject to this charge.
