Carillionamey- New Housing Portal New Housing Application System

There is  a delay to the launch of the new Carillionamey (CA) housing portal. CA have informed  that last minute issues were found and, as a result, the launch has been delayed until these have been resolved. Keep an eye on the Blog to let you know the new launch date when it is decided, but until then, please continue to apply for SFA using the e1132 system on Dii.

On Monday 30 January, Carillionamey (CA) will be introducing a new online system for applying for Service Family Accommodation (SFA) in the UK as part of their new ‘housing portal’ for customers.
The refreshed e1132 application system will replace the current MOD e1132 system and will be available via the ‘Moving Home’ icon on the new CA portal.
As before, for security reasons, the new system will only be available on the Defence Intranet. Designed to replicate the current application system, it will be easy to use and will ensure applying for SFA is straightforward.
Current application system will be unavailable 25 – 30 January
To enable CarillionAmey to transfer existing Service Family Accommodation applications to the new system, access to housing applications will be temporarily suspended between 17:00 on 25 January to 08:00 on 30 January, when the new system goes live.
If you have an urgent need to raise a query relating to an existing application, or your current SFA property, please contact the CA Occupancy Services team BEFORE 17:00 on 25 January on 0800 707 6000.
The CA 24-hour maintenance Helpdesk will remain open as usual throughout.

Staffordshire Police Latest Smart Alert - University Spear-Phishing Alert from City of London Police

our latest Smart Alert.
Fraudsters are sending out a high number of phishing emails to university email addresses claiming to be from their own HR department. These email addresses are either spoofed or in some cases using compromised university email accounts.  The email claims that the recipient is entitled to a pay rise from their department and to click on a link to claim the pay rise.
This link then takes you to a spoofed university website telling you to enter to your personal details (including university login details and financial information). These financial details can then be used by criminals, and the login details are usually passed around and sold for future fraud campaigns.
It is advisable that all universities prompt all staff and students change any password associated with their university email/IT accounts. Due to potential data breaches, it is recommended that universities discuss with the IT departments about issuing a mandatory password reset for all users.
Remember: Don't click on links or open any attachments you receive in unsolicited emails or SMS messages. Remember that fraudsters can 'spoof' an email address to make it look like one used by someone you trust. If you are unsure, check the email header to identify the true source of communication. Information on how to locate email headers can be found at https://mxtoolbox.com/Public/Content/EmailHeaders/
Use strong passwords which include a mixture of letters, numbers and special characters, and include both upper and lower case characters. Use random words as opposed to passwords with personal meanings.  Always install software updates as they will often include fixes for critical security vulnerabilities.

If you think your bank details have been compromised, you should immediately contact your bank.  If you have been affected by this, or any other fraud, report it to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040, or visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk.

Service Life Insurance

You can protect the future of your family from today until 2042 at a fixed price FOR THE WHOLE TERM. Perfect for safeguarding your mortgage and with a Government guarantee of payment for operational casualties.

Service Life Insurance 365 was designed and introduced by MOD in 2007 to provide a robust, trustworthy solution for enduring Military Life Cover – when purely commercial operators declined to provide cover for Service Personnel facing the threat from war, weapons of mass destruction or terrorism.

Exclusively available online, you can either pay your premium by Direct Debit from your bank – ideal if you intend to retain SLI365 as a civilian (through to age 65 if you wish) or through your pay account with Joint Personnel Administration ‘JPA’.

SLI365 can provide up to £200,000 lump sum benefit in the event of death or terminal illness - covering all peacetime risks such as traffic accidents and illness. Most importantly, because SLI365 is available under a contract with MoD, it guarantees protection for up to 25 years for any unforeseen operational risk.

A summary of the benefits include:

* Cover on and off duty, 365 days a year

* Up to £200,000 lump sum benefit on death or diagnosis of terminal illness – covering all peacetime risks

* Quick application progress - acceptance a certainty – (18-45 year olds)

* No medical required

* Fixed premium

For every policy taken out we make a donation to tri-service charity, The Not Forgotten Association (nfassociation.org) to support the great work they do in providing help for serving injured and veterans.
So, have a look at a brochure available now from most local HIVEs or visit www.sli365.com where you can get a quote for your chosen term (anything between 5 and 25 years) and chosen benefit amount. If you would like more information, please visit our website www.sli365.com – or drop an email to sliteam@sli365.com to request a unit briefing from our ex-military manager.

Staffordshire Smaqrt Alert - Be Aware** Warning Of Telephone Scam in the South of the County

Your latest Smart Alert.

Police are reminding people to be vigilant after receiving reports of a telephone scam in the south of the County.

A caller typically phones a landline number and tells the householder they are from a bank or their local police force. They are then instructed to withdraw money from their account, which they're told will then be collected from their home by a courier or a police officer.

DCI Paul Bentley of Staffordshire Police's Force Safeguarding and Investigation (South) said: "If someone phones saying they're from the police and asking you to withdraw money - don't do it. The police will never ask people to withdraw money.

"Anyone who receives one of these calls should report it to Staffordshire Police and also inform their bank."

DCI Bentley said he was aware of two cases in the last week in the south of the county, but it was possible other offences had not been reported.

"I'd advise people to share this advice with friends or relatives who may not have access to our updates, particularly in the south Staffordshire area," he added.
